Yes, Obviously The Death Of Ahmaud Arbery Was Based On Race
We are reaching the two year anniversary of the death of Ahmaud Arbery, and the on Monday a federal trial began to determine if his murderers also committed a hate crime by shooting him. Just this week, a series of racist text messages and emails from Travis McMichael, one of Arbery’s killers. These includes him saying “I say shoot them all . . . fuck those goddamn monkeys,” him informing a friend “I’d kill that fucking nigger,” and bragging that his new job had “not a nigger in sight.” William Bryan also said some racist things, such as talking about how his daughter “has her a nigger now,” and calling Martin Luther King Day a day where he worked “so all the niggers can take a day off.”
Some of you might remember that the murder trial constantly made an effort to exclude black people from the jury, while kicking black reverend Al Sharpton out of the courtroom. Of course, this might have something to do with the racist nature of the defense. Laura Hogue, the defense lawyer for Greg McMichael, said the following while attempting to defend this obvious murder:
