Why Rationalization And Normalization Of Pedophilia Are Two Sides Of The Same Coin

Yesterday, I was scrolling through Twitter when I found a guy named Jon K. Uhler, LPC, CCTP, CSOTP. The account basically posts pictures, mostly anti-transgender, anti-fetish, anti-pornography, and anti-pedophilia images (with most also containing some attempt to connect two or more of the things he hates together). Of course, I could respond to his various anti-transgender postings, most of which contain arguments I’ve responded to already, but instead I want to respond to what he’s said on pedophilia. Specifically, I want to respond to something he posted to his twitter account on 1/24/2022:

Pedophilia is NOT a mental illness. It is the natural result of purposefully progressing through stages of lust, then deviance.

Now, this man seems to have a hatred of pornography, blaming it for everything that’s going on in society that he does not like. Another image, posted the same day, also blames pornography for pedophilia, saying:

All legitimate therapy for men who list after kids (MAPs/pedophiles, etc) starts with 100% honestly re. his [years] of progressive porn use, that lead to child porn. Absent that — *you’re lying and you know it!
