Why “Christian Nationalism” Is A Nonsensical Idea

This article is dedicated to Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, who tweeted the following on 7/25/2022:

I am being attacked by the godless left because I said I’m a proud Christian Nationalist. These evil people are even calling me a Nazi because I proudly love my country and my God. The left has shown us exactly who they are. They hate America, they hate God, and they hate us.

Mind you, if Greene is truly interested in selling Christian nationalism, I would personally recommend she stop attacking her fellow Christians. Earlier this year, Greene got into controversy after saying in an interview with Church Militant that the Catholic Church is currently controlled by Satan. After the Catholic League — a conservative group which claims to fight defemination of Catholics — responded angerly, Greene released a statement on Twitter criticizing the Catholic Church for everything from covering up pedophilia to causing mass immigration.

What is particularly interesting about this story is that Catholic League President Bill Donohue would, under most circumstances, be a strong ally of Greene. Both are well known social conservatives and well known of their opposition to LGBT rights. Both are also very dedicated Christians — albeit Greene is more directly theocratic than Donohue — however, neither of them are able…
