What Is An Anti-Vaxxer?

On 9/28/2021, Glenn Greenwald tweeted the following:

At this point, the functional definition of “anti-vax” is the same as “grifter,” “white supremacist,” “contrarian,” “misogynist,” etc.: one who questions or defies liberal orthodoxy. That’s how it can apply to those who advocate vaccines. These are not so much words as weapons.

Greenwald said this while quote tweeting a post from his good friend Michael Tracey, who wrote:

Repulsive for Rolling Stone to smear @jjudahisaac as an “anti-vaxxer” when Isaac expressly says he’s *not* against vaccines, and in fact supports them, but that as a fit 23-year-old who already had COVID, rejects being coerced into compliance against his own reasoned judgment

Tracey is talking about a 9/25/2021 article from Rolling Stone with the headline “The NBA’s Anti-Vaxxers Are Trying to Push Around the League — And It’s Working.” The article covers the recent disputes the NBA has had among certain players who refuse to take the COVID-19 vaccine, and how the number of the NBA players who refuse to take it are so large that no mandate can properly be implemented.

Of course, if Jonathan Isaac really isn’t anti-vaccine, then he certainly has an odd way of showing it considering he’s refusing to take the COVID-19 vaccine. Even keeping the justifications Tracey mentioned in mind…
