Vivek Ramaswamy Wants You To Work And Work And Work — And Do Nothing Else

Vivek Ramaswamy wants to run for Governor of Ohio, and I am personally not even slightly looking forward to it. Not just because I am worried about him being seen as a longshot candidate by the media and therefore giving him an easy route to victory, not just because I don’t want somebody that entrenched in the MAGA movement as Governor of my state, but also because I view him as a bad politician with terrible ideas who would make Ohio worse.

Some More News discussed recently the controversy over the H-1B Visa program, along with how Ramaswamy turned the entire conversation into one about how American culture doesn’t do enough to value intellectuals. Although that criticism is not without any form of merit, Vivek’s specific of this conversation should be discussed. On 12/26/2024, Vivek wrote the following on Twitter in reference to what he thinks culture should be like:

More movies like Whiplash, fewer reruns of Friends. More math tutoring, fewer sleepovers. More weekend science competitions, fewer Saturday morning cartoons. More books, less TV. More creating, less “chillin.” More extracurriculars, less “hanging out at the mall.”
