This Isn’t About Kat Howard, It’s About A Wider Narrative
On 11/10/2021, the website Lesbian and Gay News published an article titled “‘As one of the lesbians quoted in this article, this backlash has hurt. Deeply.’ Kat Howard reflects on her BBC interview on the cotton ceiling.” In the article, a woman named Kat Howads claims she was one of the women interviewed for the BBC’s now infamous 10/26/2021 article “We’re being pressured into sex by some trans women,” and discusses the backlash said piece has received.
For those unaware, Lesbian and Gay News — which, side note, is a pretty redundant name considering lesbians are gay — is another LGB Alliance-style group. They claim to fight for the rights of LGB people, but in practice the only thing they actually do is go after transgender people constantly. Just in the past couple of days, headlines on their website have included:
- “Coming out… all over again”: James Roberts on Gender Critical Coming Out Day, Sunday 19th December
- Dennis Kavanagh talks to Graham Linehan: “I knew it was a dangerous debate to get involved in and I knew they’d come after my livelihood.”
- Claire Heuchan: “Every time I see one woman dismiss another, either as a ‘TERF’ or ‘handmaiden’, my heart sinks.”
