The Gettr Grift

Trump supporters currently have a new social media alternative, and it’s called Gettr. Although it launched on 7/4/2021, Gettr is currently seeing a surge in number membership after podcast host Joe Rogan got an account on the platform.

Gettr was founded by Trump aide Jason Miller, and he has previously worked on the campaigns of such people as Jack Ryan, Mark Sanford, and Rudy Giuliani. Miller also worked on Ted Cruz’s 2016 Presidential Campaign before joining the Trump train on 6/29/2016.

Of course, Jason Miller has many skeletons in his closest, he has been in legal trouble multiple times and engaged in multiple extra-marital affairs. One affair with right-wing columnist A. J. Delgado resulted in his fathering a child he had out of wedlock. Another affair allegedly involved him giving a woman he had gotten pregnant an abortion pill without her knowledge and consent. Miller also admitted in 2019 that he had a history of visiting both sex workers and “Asian-themed” massage parlors.

One of the more mysterious stories behind Gettr is its connections with a Chinese businessman named Guo Wengui, who is the former seventy-third richest person in China. Guo has been accused by the Chinese authorities of various crimes — including kidnapping, money laundering, and rape — and fled to the United States in 2014 specifically to avoid being arrested.
