The Funniest Part About Trump’s Attacks On Other Republicans

It seems like the latest Republican Donald Trump is angry at is Rep. Massie (R-KY) for not voting in favor of his preferred stimulus package. This morning, the President sent out a series of Tweets going after the congressman:

Looks like a third rate Grandstander named @RepThomasMassie, a Congressman from, unfortunately, a truly GREAT State, Kentucky, wants to vote against the new Save Our Workers Bill in Congress. He just wants the publicity. He can’t stop it, only delay, which is both dangerous & costly. Workers & small businesses need money now in order to survive. Virus wasn’t their fault. It is “HELL” dealing with the Dems, had to give up some stupid things in order to get the “big picture” done. 90% GREAT! WIN BACK HOUSE, but throw Massie out of Republican Party!

You know, we could have also gotten the package out much faster if Trump’s administration wasn’t publicly calling it a hoax for two fucking months. And I think Trump is under the impression the RNC is allowed to just throw people out of the party, they aren’t. If you’re a registered member of a political party, the only person who can change that is you. Hence why the RNC couldn’t even throw out someone like David Duke the numerous times he has ran for office as a Republican.

By empowering the Radical Left Democrats, do nothing Kentucky politician @RepThomasMassie is making their War on the 2nd Amendment more and more difficult to win (But don’t worry, we will win anyway!). He is a disaster for America, and for the Great State of Kentucky!

The President who tried to implement red flag laws, banned bump fire stocks, and once said he’d take guns without due process is angry the 2nd Amendment is being violated.

Rep. Massie has been one of the most vocal critics of the administration from within the Republican Party. According to Five Thirty Eight, Massie votes with Trump less than 70% of the time.

Here is why this bothers Trump so much however, and why I find this so funny, the people who Trump spends the most time attacking are commonly much more popular where they live than the President is.

Think of some of the Republicans Trump has gone after the most:

• In 2016, Rep. Amash, the Michigan Representative who became an Independent in 2019, won with 58% of the votes in his district. President Trump only won 52%.
• In 2018, Senator Mitt Romney was elected by the state of Utah with 63% of the vote. Two years earlier, Trump only managed to win 46% of the vote in said state. This was also a massive drop from Romney’s experience in running for President in 2012, where he won Utah with 73% of the vote.
• In 2016, Rep. Massie won Kentucky’s 4th District with 71% of the vote. Trump did also win that district, but only with 65% of the vote.

Compare that to some of his biggest apologists in Congress:

• In 2016, Donald Trump won the state of Missouri with 56% of the vote. Two years later, Senator Hawley only won his seat, against a two-term Democrat who only won because of luck, with 51% of the vote.
• In 2016, Donald Trump won the state of Kentucky with 63% of the vote. Two years earlier, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell was re-elected to his Senate seat with 56% of the vote.
• And who can forget the various “Trump candidates” that failed. Don Blankenship called himself “Trumpier than Trump,” and he lost. Roy Moore ran for Alabama Senate with a Trump like tactic, and he lost. Now, former Attorney General Jeff Sessions is trying to get his old Senate seat back, and he couldn’t even get the endorsement of the President.

To put it simply, the administration is mad it is not in control of the Republican Party. Not just because the idea of anyone disagreeing with Donald Trump angers him, although it does, but also because of the simple fact that his critics are winning.
