The Biden Administration Has Been Failing On Cuba

During a recent meeting of diplomats, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said “I wish I had more answers” about a mysterious condition people are developing in Cuba called “Havana Syndrome. A condition that has been showing up in Cuban government workers as well as undercover CIA agents who work in the country.

Of course, Blinken did not have to tell the world that the Biden Administration has no understanding of what’s going on in Cuba, its actions over the past month have easily proven that by itself.

A 7/31/2021 article in The Atlantic, published by Jorge Felipe-Gonzalez who grew up in Cuba and was born in the final days of the Soviet Union, makes note that the Cuban government is currently on the verge of collapse. Young people who were born after the Soviet Union collapsed and the Cuban government opened up to the rest of the world in the 1990s are much less likely to support Cuba’s authoritarian communist government and much more likely to prefer the western way of life. As Felipe-Gonzalez puts it:

Today there is a new generation of Cubans who grew up without the omnipresent figure of Fidel and the prying eyes of the state. To these young people, the old-fashioned socialist rhetoric that still plays on state TV is unconvincing, alien, and frankly ridiculous. Unlike my generation, they did not watch
