The Anti-Abortion Crowd Commits Sacrifice (And Other Short Takes)

In the past handful of weeks since Roe v. Wade was repealed, the anti-abortion crowd has tried to stop a ten-year-old who was raped from having an abortion, banned abortion for lethal birth defects, and caused women to stop taking medication they need because it might induce a miscarriage. At what point do we just say these people are committing sacrifice of women? If you’re against abortion so strongly that you’re not even willing to allow women to have life saving medications because they could induce a miscarriage, you are basically saying that you’re willing to allow women to die for your cause.

The case of the ten-year-old is especially telling because someone that young giving birth is actually incredibly dangerous. The female body is not fully developed for giving birth until their late teenage years, and it’s incredibly likely that both the child giving birth and the even younger child she’ll give birth to will die in the process. However, the anti-abortion crowd is perfectly fine with that because both the women and children who die are merely being sacrificed at the alter of the anti-abortion movement.
