Responding To This Dumb “Contradictions In Trans Ideology” Post

Back in late September, I responded to a group called Parents with Inconvenient Truths about Trans, or PITT. Although I have not responded to them for a month and a half, that does not mean I haven’t been reading them. In truth, I do keep an eye on these transphobic groups (as well as various right-wing reactionary groups in general) specifically to see what new talking points they come up with.

I mention this because on 11/9/2021 this group published an article titled “Contradictions in Trans Ideology — An Incomplete List” where the author — who is anonymous — that claims to list eight contradictions in “trans ideology.” As a supporter of transgender right — which is commonly called “transgender ideology” by those critical of transgender rights — I figured it was worth my time to give it a response.

Although its title makes you think the article is about contradictions in “trans ideology,” it actually primarily focuses on the topic of transgender children. Mind you, the topic of transgender children is a controversial one — even among those who would consider themselves supporters of transgender rights — so I understand some people do have genuine concerns about this topic.
