On “Grooming People Into Being Trans”

Yesterday, I published an article discussing the idea that homosexuals were being “turned transgender” as the result of homophobia. However, despite discussing why nothing about that idea makes any sense, I did not go into a more general transphobic conspiracy theory, the idea that transgender people are grooming others into becoming transgender.

I tried to find some kind of concrete article discussing this topic so I would have something to go off of, but an issue with many of these articles is they primarily rely on accusations that come from testimony that cannot be proven right or wrong. A good example for this would be an 11/18/2021 article by Abigail Shrier titled “How Activist Teachers Recruit Kids,” discussing various things she claims to have been told about the California Teachers Association Conference that took place that same year.

Shrier claims these documents and audio logs were “sent to her” (by who?) and, to my knowledge, she has not released them to the public. Basically, the only thing we have to go off of is Abigail Shrier’s word — and considering my own opinion on Shrier’s journalistic integrity, that’s really not worth much.

There are a large number of articles like this, which basically all demand that you have to take the author’s word, either directly or indirectly. Of course, considering the authors of…
