Mr. Birchum, The New Norm, And Right-Wing Media

Conservatives are not the best at making media, that has become obvious at this point. Adam Carolla’s new cartoon for The Daily Wire, Mr. Birchum, is yet another example as to why. Carolla — who outside of politics I most know for his work as Spanky Ham on Drawn Together, the second season of which I consider to be one of the greatest examples of adult animation ever made although it also contains a middling first season and a horrible third season and finale movie, and who has a decent fanbase through his cult hit The Man Show (albeit I am not part of said fanbase as I personally find the show’s use of nothing but sexist humor to be horribly unfunny) — has taken to voicing the show’s title character, a conservative woodshop teacher who hates the world going in a progressive direction and has fights against the liberal establishment along with his own son.

I actually want to go back to his work on The Man Show because, to be blunt, it feels like Carolla still does essentially the same bit. For those unaware, The Man Show was a series on Comedy Central hosted by Carolla along with — of all people — Jimmy Kimmel for the first four seasons, and by Doug Stanhope and — again, of all people — Joe Rogan for its fifth.
