Let’s Seriously Talk About What The Anti-Abortion Crowd Wants

In 2011, the anti-abortion film The Life Zone was given a straight to video release. In it, three women who were about to undergo an abortion are kidnapped and forced to live separate from the rest of society for seven months until they give birth. They are also unable to leave because, if they do, a shock collar they are wearing will go off and they will die. During that time, they are talked to by a female anti-abortion doctor, talked to through video by a highly misogynist anti-abortion advocate, and shown anti-abortions propaganda videos.

In the end, two of the women give in and say that abortion is wrong, but one woman remains stubborn — even attempting to force a miscarriage. The film ends with the audience learning that the one woman who was never convinced by her kidnappers actually died on the operating table and is in Hell, as is the doctor, who actually committed suicide because of the guilt she felt from performing abortion. Both women are forced to relive the same nine months for the rest of eternity — making one wonder what the point would actually be for the woman to change for mind. After all, the doctor changed her mind on the topic of abortion and look at where that got her. Isn’t one of the core ideas in Christianity that you can repent for your sins and God will forgive you? The abortion doctor seems to have repented…
