Kash Patel: Swamp Creature

Donald Trump is in an odd place at the moment — having successfully captured one political party while preparing to start his second term as President, the President-Elect is forced to frame his nominations as anti-establishment while also picking people who have, by this point, sometimes spent over a decade in politics.

Kash Patel, Trump’s pick for FBI Director, is the latest example of this contradiction. Victor Davis Hanson, in a column published by Townhall on 12/6/2024 with the headline “What the Trump Nominees Have Not Done — And Will Not Do” specifically highlights this hypocrisy without realizing, writing in one paragraph:

Many of Trump’s picks are well outside the usual Washington, D.C./New York political, media, and corporate nexus.

Before saying on Patel:

His furious enemies cannot go after his resume since he has spent a lifetime in private, congressional, and executive billets, both in investigations and intelligence.

Here, Hanson is not wrong — Patel has a massive amount of experience regarding the topics his career would be related to. Dutin Grage even made a list of different positions Patel has held over the years which, in his view, makes him an ideal choice.
