Just A Coincidence!
On 2/12/2021, The New York Times officially updated its original article on the death of police officer Brian Sicknick with the following note:
New information has emerged regarding the death of the Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick that questions the initial cause of his death provided by officials close to the Capitol Police.
No mention of who provided that new information (I guess besides it being someone “close to the Capitol Police”), what it means, or what it even is, just that there’s new information that disproves the previous story.
Brian Sicknick, for those unaware, was the police officer at the insurrection at the capitol on 1/6/2021 who died the following day. Some crazy radical left-wing conspiracy theorists thought these two events might be connected, as The Federalist informs us:
“New information has emerged regarding the death of the Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick that questions the initial cause of his death provided by officials close to the Capitol police,” the note reads, without a concession or apology from the Times for perpetuating a conspiracy about Sicknick’s death that Democrats weaponized to pursue a second impeachment of Donald Trump.
Of course, The Federalist is one of those outlets that just dubs everything it doesn’t like to be a conspiracy theory. (This is the outlet that gave us the phrase “Brett Kavanaugh rape truther,” remember.) However, the fact is that they, along with the folks at The Gateway Pundit who first started pushing the idea that this was all “just a coincidence,” have managed to bully The New York Times into “correcting” an article to support their bullshit. The New York Times has given into the demands of a small group of lunatic bullies who agreed with what happened at the capitol and didn’t want to face the consequences of their actions. In the process, they have lost any journalistic integrity they once had, all to appeal to the loudest vocal minority of the fringiest ground of Trump supporters in this country.
The current narrative is that Sicknick died of a stroke caused by a blood clout — how he got that blood clout is oddly being left out of this explanation. Instead, we’re just supposed to believe it’s pure coincidence that Sicknick, who was at the insurrection, died the day after.
Do you know what else is a rather odd coincidence? The only Trump supporter to die at the insurrection was a woman named Ashley Babbitt, who was unarmed. Meanwhile, almost everyone else at the insurrection was armed — and yet the only person who was shot was one of the few people without a gun on them? Am I the only one who finds that to be a little strange?
Of course, raising either of these objections to the official narrative gets you labeled as a crazy conspiracy theorist. Instead, we are just supposed to believe that both of these things are nothing more than mere coincidence. The date of Brian Sicknick’s death and the odd circumstances regarding Ashley Babbitt’s death are both not worth investigating — as they are nothing more than mere coincidences.
Truth be told, the past year has been pretty big on coincides. On 5/25/2020, George Floyd died after a police officer named Derek Chauvin kneeled on Floyd’s neck for just over nine minutes, and Floyd died as a result. Once again, some crazy conspiracy theorists connected the two, however, the sensible mainstream media was here to inform us that actually, the two events were totally unrelated. In fact, a few autopsies found he died of a fentanyl overdose, a meth overdose, or even COVID-19. It seems like the autopsies confirmed that everything killed George Floyd except the man kneeling on his neck. (Mind you, even if that was the case it wouldn’t change the fact that his neck was kneeled on for over nine minutes — but that’s beside the point.) But still, it seems rather coincidental that the most visible thing going on around George Floyd at the time of his death is also the single thing that didn’t kill him.
Here’s another odd one: On 12/8/2020 Axios published an article documenting the relationship between Democratic Congressman Eric Swalwell and a Chinese spy. The relationship, I should note, is rather underwhelming, with the most being said about it being that she had a minor role in his 2014 congressional campaign. The article does not say, as many have since claimed, that she had sex with Swalwell or that she had some major role in one of his congressional campaigns.
However, the time when it came out is rather odd. Axios published this story while Donald Trump was trying to rally support behind the idea that the 2020 Presidential Election was stolen from him. One of his major attacks against Joe Biden (one that would be irrelevant to the results of the election, might I add) is that he’s soft on China. Now wouldn’t it be coincidental if a Democratic Congressman, one who sits on the House Intelligence Committee no less, turned out to have connections to a Chinese spy? Maybe it would even drum up support for the President who wants to go to war with China and who’s trying to steal the election.
This reminds me of the time when it was revealed that Senator Dianne Feinstein’s limo driver, who had worked for her for twenty years without so much as a peep from the mainstream media, was also a Chinese spy — oddly, it happened when the President needed to distract the public from the Russia investigation.
Once again, if you point any of this out to the average person, they’ll dub you an insane conspiracy theorist. Instead, you see, these all just normal coincidences. (As the old quote says: I’ll start calling myself a conspiracy theorist when you start calling yourself a coincidence theorist.) There sure seem to be an awfully large amount of coincidences, and many of them seem to benefit the Republican Party rather heavily.
Although who knows at this point, maybe that in itself is just another massive coincidence.
