Is Criticizing Israel Cancel Culture?

On 7/18/2021, political commentator Sarah Abdallah tweeted out the following story:

Israel just destroyed the oldest known Canaanite cemetery in Palestine, a 4,200-year-old site, to build an Israeli-settlers-only road. This is a war crime. The occupation regime is literally erasing Palestine’s history as the world looks on in silence.

Of course, Israel has never been known for sensitivity regarding the culture of the Palestinians. The geopolitical crisis Israel saw earlier this year was the result of Israel raiding the third-holiest sight in all of Islam during Ramadan. With that said, this erasure of the culture of the Palestinian people is still an evil action that should result in universal condemnation from the international community.

The fact is, destroying native history is not a tactic used by anyone except the worst of oppressors. Here’s an Iraqi news service on 2/13/2015 reporting on another group that erased the history of those it attempted to conquer:

Since its attack on Mosul last June, the "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) has looted and destroyed at least 28 heritage religious buildings across the country, most recently al-Tahera church in al-Shaareen district, the Iraqi Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities said in February.
