Every Political Response To The Coronavirus Is Wrong

Remember when the Coronavirus was a Democrat hoax? I don’t blame you if you don’t, it was a whole month ago.

Here is just one of the things popular right-wing Twitter user Educating Liberals had to say about it:

The stock market dropped 1200 points today — the single worst drop in its history.

This is what happens when the Fake News Media scares the public into believing the Coronavirus is worse than the Spanish flu.

They will do anything to hurt Trump’s image before election season. — 2/27/2020

Fox Business host Trish Regan called panic related to it a plot by Democrats to impeach President Trump — again. As did Republican commentator Bill Mitchell. Luckily, Tucker Carlson made sure to make it sound as scary as possible, so he could use it as a reason to restrict immigration.

I must say, for a hoax by Democrats it’s odd that a Republican has been taking the most action. That being Ohio Governor Mike Dewine who is such a Republican he signed the Heartbeat Bill into law, sponsored the Federal Marriage Amendment when he was in the Senate, and has met with Presidents Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush.

Dewine has banned gatherings of 100 or more people, which in the process has wrecked the economy of Cleveland. He has also closed schools for at least the next three weeks, including in parts of the state where the virus has no signs of showing. This screws over anyone going on a college tour, anyone in an Advanced Placement class, and basically anyone who’s smart enough to realize this idea is nonsense.

For the record, his plan would affect K-12 public schools only. People between the age of 10–19 have a 1/500 chance of dying if they contract the Coronavirus, people between the age of 0–9 have no chance according to the CDC. And these old people we keep hearing are the only ones who die, well if you’re over the age of 80 your mortality rate is 14.8%.

Now let’s talk about the left. For instance, Kyle Kulinski (recently called the most important Bernie Bro by Jacobin) said the following today:

Imagine not supporting the universal healthcare guy during a global pandemic.

Of course, China has one of the most well funded universal healthcare programs on this planet. Italy, a country that has been especially badly hit, has one of the most well funded and expansive programs in all of Europe.

Does Kyle seriously believe that Mao Zedong just never got around to making healthcare public? He managed to socialize farming but just left the healthcare industry in private hands.

While on this topic, people made fun of Ben Shapiro for Tweeting the following:

So when exactly are coronavirus tests going to be widely available?

This is evidence to some that, as The New York Times put it, we’re all socialists during a pandemic. However, “widely available” does mean “socialized.” Tons of things are widely available not just in a free market, but also because of the free market. For instance, Snickers bars are quite widely available, yet, they have never once been socialized.

Do you know what I might have to blame for tests not being widely available, Donald Trump? Just today, the president signed an executive order saying the government must only buy medicine from China.

If another country did this to us, it would be a blockade and usually a crime against humanity. However, if we do it to ourselves, it’s called America First!

At least this only affects government purchases, but Senator Josh Hawley is trying to fix that. You see, he decided that it would be best for the nation if we just didn’t have access to some forms of medicine because of the country it was made from.

I should make this clear, medicine is one of those things that we should be trading freely for, especially during a pandemic. If one person dies because of these new rules, far as I’m concerned the President should be put on trail for crimes against humanity.

This is a disaster.
