Donald Trump’s Rule Over Republicans Is A Paper Tiger

Recently, Donald Trump began touring with former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly, who lost his job in 2017 after it came to light that Fox News had to spend millions of dollars settling various sexual harassment lawsuits against O’Reilly. However, despite the presence of Donald Trump — a man with a large and devoted fanbase — it seems like his followers were not interested. During their event in Orlando, Florida — Florida being a state Trump won in both 2016 and 2020 — Trump and O’Reilly could only get 5,406 people to show up out of the 17,000 people that stadium can hold.

To give you an idea of just how small that is, Donald Trump got 5,668,731 votes in Florida when he ran for President in 2020. Donald Trump needed less than 0.3% of the people who voted for him to show up if he wanted to fill this stadium, Trump got slightly more than 0.09%.

It should be noted that this is far from a surprise, on 7/16/2021 Politico ran an article on this very tour with the headline “Ticket sales are moving slowly for the coming Trump-O’Reilly stadium tour.” Although, I do want to note just how much these tickets cost:

While most seats are priced between $100 and $300, a “VIP Meet & Greet Package” goes for more than $8,500 and includes getting pictures taken with Trump and O’Reilly and a pre-show, 45-minute reception.
