It’s not all that often I spend an entire article doing nothing more than responding to criticism/following up to a previous article — especially if it’s an article that’s almost three months old. However, my 5/22/2021 article “Is Anti-Zionism Anti-Semitism?” earned a response from a Medium user named Ruchama King Feuerman that I feel is worth diving into.

Feuerman specifically took issue with my point regarding if a Jewish state should exist. On this point, I write:

Well, I don’t believe there should be a Jewish state, just as I don’t believe there should be a Christian or Muslim or Scientologist state. I am an advocate for secularism and against theocracy, so by that definition, yes I am against a Jewish state. However, that doesn’t make me any more anti-Semitic than being against a Muslim state makes me anti-Islam, or being against a Christian state makes me anti-Christian.

On 8/16/2021, Feuerman responded to my article by stating:

And since you’re ever so neutral and even-handed, why not go about dismantling every single Muslim state? According to the World Atlas, there are 45 Muslim countries. Instead, you save your ire for the single state that belongs to Jews, the only place in the world where Yom Kippur is a national holiday. It’s articles like these that prove the necessity of Israel more
