DeSantis vs. Trump: The Cock Measuring Contest That Really Doesn’t Mean Anything

Similar to how the 2020 Democratic Primaries were primarily a battle between Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden, it’s obvious that the 2024 Republican Primaries are going to be a battle between Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis — assuming DeSantis decides to run, which he has not at time of writing. A 12/14/2022 article from The Hill says that DeSantis has a fourteen point advantage to Trump in a hypothetical match up. I remember seeing a man named Leon Thomas respond to this news on Twitter by saying the following:

I mean, ha, fuck Trump. The downside here is that DeSantis is arguably a more “electable” candidate in 2024 than Trump. Republicans wising up to that and choosing DeSantis just means their party wants to continue Trumpism (fascism) but without Trump.

Honestly, I find this idea that Ron DeSantis is “more electable than Trump” to be — strange, to say the least. Remember, DeSantis just barley won his race for Governor against Andrew Gillum back in 2018. For that matter, DeSantis has never been tested on the national stage — Donald Trump has, and he won, that’s why he was President for four years.

For that matter, it’s important to remember that DeSantis’s reputation of being “more electable” might ironically give him more of a battle than Democrats gave Trump…
